The fact that people can plead insanity as a reason why they committed a crime isn’t exactly what I would consider just. Technically people beyond the healthy medium of having a mental health issue can be a threat to society, but everyday people? Is it the government giving people an easy way out, but then causing them to spend more time in a facility that they don’t belong in? I don’t like this system. People try to judge other people’s health without examining their own. Is it possible that we’re all equally sick but some have greater self-control then others? In movies, it always seems like pleading insanity is the easy way out. It’s pretty much the coward’s way out unless they truly are innocent. It seems like people forget to look at themselves while they judge other people. I’m talking in circles. I know what I want to say but having a hard time without being redundant. Ew.
